Changing the Narrative
Our national stories have a enduring impact on the way we see ourselves, our communities, our heritage and our country. For decades, the misrepresented story of Ethiopian Jewry was one of helpless victim.
Forum Yerusalem aims to remind Ethiopian-Israelis, and teach all Israelis, the truth.

Forum Yerusalem
Forum Yerusalem works to renew and enhance the Israeli story by incorporating the story of Ethiopian Jewry to the rich tapestry of Zionism.
The story of Ethiopian Jewry, a 2,500-year-old community, remains untold to much of Israeli society. Through a variety of educational and public relations initiatives, the nonprofit coalition Forum Yerusalem aims to showcase the tremendous courage and tenacity of the Ethiopian Jewish community.
Founded in 2017 by Director Shmuel Yilma, the forum aims to create a platform for a robust and diverse network of local leaders to create a more tolerant and unified Israeli society.
The Forum's main activities include:
-
Annual Conference to highlight Ethiopian-Israeli leaders and community heroes.
-
An "Identity Journey" to Ethiopia for senior officials in public, social, academic and media organizations.
-
Promotion of educational and tourism sites in Israel that demonstrate the profound and positive impact the Ethiopian-Israeli community has had on the country and society.
