Solomon Tekah, age 18, was shot and killed by an off-duty Israeli policeman on Sunday evening in Kiryat Haim, a Haifa suburb. Protests about the shooting – which was unjustified according to witnesses – were being held yesterday and today all over Israel. The Ethiopian Israeli community is angry, devastated and outraged. Solomon was well-regarded in the Haifa neighborhood where he lived and participated in many community programs.
