The continuing crisis in Israel has brought distress, dislocation and sorrow to so many. As 2023 draws to a close, we wish to honor and remember those Ethiopian Israelis who have fallen since October 7th – soldiers, police and civilians.
May their memories be a source of blessing and strength to us all.

In Memoriam.
Major Moloken Tshuma from Ashdod, served in the Bekaa in reserve service since October 7th, and fell Dec 25th while performing his duties. He was buried on Tuesday at the military cemetery in Ashdod.
Sgt. Berhanu Kassie, age 20 from Beit Shemesh, served in the Givat Brigade’s Reconnaissance Unit, and died in combat in Gaza on December 23, 2023.
Sgt. Adar Ishto Bogale, 20 years old from Ariel, of the 13th Battalion Golani Brigade, fell in the war, October 7, 2023. He was buried in Segulah Cemetery.
Sgt. Yonatan Yitzhak Samo, from Carmi Tzur, a fighter in the 202nd Battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade, 21 years old, fell on Nov. 10, 2023.
Sgt. Maru Elem, 20 years old from Ashkelon, 51st Battalion from the Golani Brigade was killed on October 7, 2023 in a battle with terrorists in the Gaza Envelope.
Sgt. Almanau Emanuel Falka was from Kiryat Gat, 22 years old. In the Duvdevan unit in the Commando Brigade, he fell on Dec 12, 2023.
Staff Sgt. Aviel Malkamo, from Kiryat Ata, a commando fighter in the Egoz unit in the Commando Brigade, 21 years old, fell on October 10, 2023.
Sgt. Uriel Avraham from Netivot, 29 years old, Patroller in the
Negev BSM South District, fell on October 7th.
Sgt, Benyamin Belay, from Rehovot, was 20 years old and a Driver in the Southern Brigade – killed on October 7th,
Sgt. Gadif Mulugeta, age 29 from Kiryat Gat, was in the Israel Police Special Forces. He died on October 7th, in fierce fighting defending Kibbutz Bari.
Sgt. Achalwu Sama, age 20 from Peta Tikvah, was a fighter in the 932nd Infantry Battalion of the Nahal Brigade. Wounded in battle in November, he died on Dec 2, 2023.
Lt. Shay Ayeli, age 21 from Asheklon, was killed on Dec 22, 2023 in combat in Northern Gaza..
Sgt. Orr Astu, age 21 from Beersheva, was in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade. He died in the fighting on October 7.
Cpl. Avraham Patna, age 20 from Haifa, was in the Erez Battalion of the Military Police Corps, and died fighting on November 16, 2023.
Sgt. Binyamin Tashgar Teka was 21 years old and from Jerusalem. In the Golani Brigade, he died defending their base on October 7th.
Sgt. Shmuel Samtzo Golema, age 48 from Kiryat Gat, was killed on October 7th.
Edna (Inat) Melkamo, aged 45 from Ofakim. A caregiver for children, she was murdered on October 7th on her way home from work in her car by Hamas terrorists.
Sigal Itach,, 27 years old from Beersheva, was murdered on October 7th at the dance party near Kibbutz Rai’m.
Israel Chana, age 30 from Ofakim, was killed defending his city on October 7th.
