The Ethiopian Israeli community took to the streets en mass this month after Solomon Teka, an unarmed 18 year-old, was shot and killed by a police officer in Kiryat Haim near Haifa.  This was the second such incident this year after 24 year-old Yehuda Biadga was shot dead by police in January.
The police and justice system in Israel must be held accountable for Solomon’s death.  Justice must be served.    The attached PETITION (click here) asks that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Justice Minister Amir Ohana and President Reuven Rivlin put this on top of their agendas, and ensure that an independent inquiry is held immediately.
Ethiopian Israelis do not want an apology.  What they want is to prevent any more senseless killing of Ethiopian Jewish youth who encounter a police officer.    For that to happen, justice must be fully applied and the police held fully accountable thru an unbiased, independent inquiry.
Please sign this petition to show your support of the Ethiopian Israeli community in our mutual fight against racism, discrimination and inequality!
