Tech-Career – the Computer software and programming technology training center for Ethiopian-Israelis – is expanding its horizons and nurturing a new generation of techpreneurs. The plan is to create a permanent campus that will be a model for tech education and a springboard for economic and social integration for young Ethiopian-Israelis—and over the long term, for under-served young adults from diverse communities. The proposed new permanent campus will create a hub for Ethiopian-Israelis to further their careers. The space will serve as an open front door to the community—to draw high-tech leaders to share and advance the mission to promote the participation of diverse communities in Israel’s dynamic high-tech workforce.
The new campus will house four computer laboratories, space for workshops, meet-ups for alumni, a study lounge and administrative offices. The two floors above the classrooms and study areas will be student dormitories that will accommodate 66 students for the duration of 8-10 months. Dormitories enable students to put their full focus on their studies and have access to computer laboratories around the clock. The outdoor green spaces will provide a pleasant environment for sunshine and relaxation in the heart of the city.
