Wuste Tzega Center Issues Report on Tumultous Year

Wuste Tsega 2023-24 Report

Wuste Tzega, the Culturally-Adapted Psychotherapy Center, has been non-stop for the past 11 months.   Since October 7th, Wuste Tsega experienced a surge in demand for its services, assisting evacuees, injured individuals, soldiers, and civilians facing trauma.   Wuste Tzega launched the first hotline to provide counseling and support nationally in Hebrew and Amharic.  Director Yeshitu Shmuel has conducted dozens of trainings on trauma and stress management, delivered to crisis therapists across Israel.  The Center has expanded from 3 to 6 full-time staff and 10 part-time therapists, along with 40 trained, hotline volunteers.  The current conflict has triggered PTSD in many Israeli populations, including Ethiopian Jews who walked through Sudan and were trapped in harsh refugee camps.

Wuste Tzega has just released its very first Annual Report, covering October 2023 to the present.    Click here, to read their compelling and inspiring report.
